What the diagnostic measures
The CSM AI Maturity Diagnostic evaluates six dimensions that together determine whether AI investment pays off in a mid-market company: strategy and use cases (is there a thesis?), data readiness (can AI reach clean, governed data?), security and risk (are usage and access controlled?), infrastructure foundation (will the environment support production AI?), governance and compliance(is there written, enforced policy?), and team adoption (do people actually use what's deployed?).
Each dimension is scored independently, because averages hide the story: a company can be Advanced on strategy and Exploring on governance — and that gap, not the average, is the risk. The result is a heat grid, not a single grade.
